Many people assume that in order for me to be able to take as many long trips to the United States as I do, I must surely be completely loaded! Those who know me well will vouch for the fact that this assumption could not be further from the truth.

My trips are made possible in no small part to the continued generosity of my great friends across the States. Without their willingness to open their homes and have me as their guest, I would surely not be able to see America as often, or for as long, or as intimately as I do. It is to them that I owe not only this trip, but all of my American adventures dating back to the early nineties.

So let me say a special thank you to
