For me 2004 started five hours after my friends back in the UK had sang the
few words of 'Auld Lang Syne' they knew. Once again
I
was
in
America,
Boston to be exact. I spent New Years eve with my friends Karen and Anne walking
around the city enjoying it's curiously named 'First night' celebrations and
events. The year seemed to sweep by in a rush of work and general business, but
I will remember 2004 as, in the words of Sinatra, a very good year.
I returned
to America three more times in the year and unexpectedly fulfilled a lifelong
ambition to travel to to India. I was taken to the Southern region of India
called Tamil Nadu, to photograph charity work for one of my UK based customers.
A month later Tamil Nadu and much of Southeast Asia was devastated by the terrible
tsunami the day after Christmas.
